Pizza Tour Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Pizza Tour ("we," "us," "the app") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Pizza Tour, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password, handled securely by our authentication provider and never visible to us in plain text. You also choose a public username — your email is never shown publicly to other users.
Content you provide. The pizza places you log, your ratings, notes, dine-in/ takeout selection, visit dates, and any photos you upload.
Location data. If you grant permission, we collect your device's precise location to show nearby places and plot your visits on the map. You can decline and still use the app — some features let you search by city or zip instead.
Social information. Who you follow, who follows you, your likes, and your comments, visible to others according to your profile's public/private setting.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to operate the app's core features, show your content according to your privacy settings, improve the app, and communicate with you about your account.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and photo storage.
- Google Places API — your search text is sent to Google when you search for a place by name. Also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — powers map display and address-to-coordinate conversion.
4. Your Privacy Choices
- Public or private profile, controlling who can see your logged visits and rankings
- Your username is shown publicly; your email is not
- You can delete any visit you've logged at any time
- You can delete your entire account and associated data from your Profile page at any time
5. Data Retention & Security
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. We use industry-standard security practices, but no system is perfectly secure.
6. Children's Privacy
Pizza Tour is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us with information.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
